There are a lot of environmental benefits to keeping stormwater out of sewer systems. St. Louis’ Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) has found a way to solve its derelict building problems in favor of a green solution. The MSD, in collaboration with the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority, have approved a 13.5 million-dollar solution to demolish abandoned buildings. Fewer buildings, and less pavement will mean less stormwater runoff in the sewer system.
